The Vibrant Soundbridge is the most successful middle ear implant on the market with more than 12 years experience. It is a direct-drive, implantable middle ear hearing system for the treatment of adults with mild to severe sensorineural hearing loss as well as for conductive and mixed hearing losses.
The Vibrant Soundbridge System consists of two major components: the implant, called Vibrating Ossicular Prosthesis (VORP) and the externally worn audio processor. The implant contains a very small vibrating transducer (Floating Mass Transducer, FMT) that mechanically causes a middle ear structure to vibrate. The FMT transmit a wide frequency range up to 8.000 Hz.
